Armin

Who was Armin?

Armin SchleicherOn November 11th 1995 Armin died on a treking trip in the Himalayas. He had booked this holiday as a present for having completed his studies to become a teacher of English and Theology. Before he had returned back to university, he worked as a media manager for the katholic church in Regensburg. He had gotten this job, because he had made himself known first as a news reader, later as the host of the "Gospel Stunde", a four hour radio program, in which he talked about all sorts of religious topics. Originally, the jobs at the radio station helped him to pump up his student budget. Armen studied English and Theology, at first finishing his study with a Masters Degree.

Armin started to write poetry when he lived in the United States, working as a teaching assistant first in Columbia, Missouri, later on in Williamstown, Massachusetts, after having had completed his schooling in Weiden and his semi-finals at university in Regensburg.

Before that had lived with mother, step-father and little sis, in Auerbach, a dinky little coal mining town in Bavaria. The first three years of his life he more or less stayed at his grand parents house.

He was born on December 10th 1960 and died on November 11th 1995.

  • Poetry

This is the collection of poems that my brother Armin wrote. I guess, some of them have been published in various student or university newspapers, but not his entire collection.

Since Armin died in a landslide in the Himalayas in 1995, he never had a chance to get this little book off to the printers. So, I thought, that I could publicly display them on this website.

I love you very much, Armin, and not a day goes by that I do not miss you. Your little sis’ Carmen

I suggest that you read the texts in the the sequence of the printed version of the book, "Peanuts in Heaven".
